Final Season Results

Unfortunately we did not meet the goals that were laid out for submission of tagged deer.  However, I will be releasing most of those details anyways in coming updates to the site.  It is still essential that members of the community submit sightings and trail camera photos of any tagged or collared deer they see.  We have now had deer disperse more than 120 miles from Fort Drum, so keep your eye out anywhere in the North Country.

Week 5: Harvest Update

As stated in the Week 4 Update, if we have 10 submitters of photos by next week’s update, I will have rut information along with all of the demographic data (sex, age distributions, etc.  I finished all of the population maps this week and as soon as we get to 25 submitters of photos I will share it.

Outdoor News wrote a great profile on the project that was in the issue that came out last week.

This was a low week for harvest with all of the rain.

Week 2: Harvest Update

Introducing New Hunter Forums

The forums will allow hunters to report deer that were shot and have lost blood trails.  This will help limit wasted deer.  There are other topics available as well to connect hunters in the area.

Submit Photos of Tagged Deer to the Study

It is essential that we have help from the community submitting trail camera photos of tagged, collared, and ripped-ear deer.  If you or anyone you know have any please go to photo submission to submit these photos for our spatial database.  We have 2 hunters submitting so far and there are many more hunters with trail cameras deployed.
